This is an extra credit blog about annotations on Frozen, the excerpt is my analysis on feminism in the scenes. The blog is a reflection of how I improved my written literacy in the creation of annotations. I learned to analyze movie scenes from this assignment.​​

In the assignment, we were asked to annotate movie scenes with timestamps, the following picture shows my analysis of Belle. From annotating this film, I learned to apply reading skills to videos--pausing to make annotations​. This skill helped me dig much deeper into the texts that I never tried before.

By reviewing other peers' introductory paragraphs, I gave them suggestions and understand the importance of reflection. From giving other peer advice, I learned to reflect the same thing on my own writing.

The only peer review that I received so far is for my introductory paragraphs. Although her comments were mostly positive, I still found suggestions among them. Accepting others' advice and reflect on it helps to shape the habits of mind--openness.

This excerpt is part of what I revised for my integration on Connect. I considered introducing the authors whom I quoted from, and add interpretation sentences. From this assignment, I understand the importance of having a process when composing a sophisticated text.

This is when I was asked to Find and Replace Vague, General, and Unnecessary Words and Statements in my draft. By re-reading my essay draft, I found some minor issues that I did not notice when I was writing, which helped me develop effective habits for my own writing process: revision is necessary.

For some reason I had an extra paragraph discussing the popularity of Frozen when it was released, I moved it to the second introductory paragraph. After revision, I understand the importance of self review because the reorganization makes the paragraphs flow better.

This is when I added analysis to one of the secondary sources that I used. From this revision, I learned how to improve my written literacy in formal essays. The process requires me to re-read the essay multiple times.​
